The Free and Reduced Application Processing Program
The Lunch Application Program is a robust and comprehensive program that permits the Systems Design User to process the Family Free and Reduced Applications in the POS System.
The following tutorials will show the user how to complete the various tasks that are involved in the recording and processing of the Family Free and Reduced Applications. In addition to the processing of applications, the operator may print any of a wide variety of reports that provide the information required for the management of the application processes.
The Free and Reduced Application program is fully integrated with the POS student data base which means that as applications are processed the calculated status is transferred real time to the student data base. This applies to the calculated status and to the direct certification process.
Operations that this program will preform include the general processing of applications, the printing of benefit letters, managing those who had a free or reduced status the previous year and have not submitted an application this year, processing direct certifications, managing the verification process, the printing of various reports, and many other functions.
An important point to remember is that one should do the Direct Certification process on a timely basis. At the first of the year before processing applications you should be sure to download the direct certification file and process that file prior to entering paper applications. You can view the downloading and transferring of this file by looking at this web page.
One may also be aware that we now have an on line free and reduced application program called Meal App Now. If you would be interested in learning more about on line applications please call our offices at 800.887.1828.
