How To Find The IP Address Of Your Server
There may be occasion when an administrator is required to know the IP address of the child nutrition server. Just so we know what an IP address is, here is a short explanation. Every machine on a network has a unique identifier. Just as you would address a letter to send in the mail, computers use the unique identifier to send data to specific computers on a network. Most networks today, including all computers on the Internet, use the TCP/IP protocol as the standard for how to communicate on the network. In the TCP/IP protocol, the unique identifier for a computer is called its IP address.
An example of this requirement is that our PCLP web based report viewer requires the user to know the child nutrition server IP address. Our programmers have provided an easy way to find this IP address which is located in the System Maintenance area of the program. We do not ask users to go to the System Maintenance area often because there are some entries here that should not be changed unless our support office directs you to do so. Finding the server IP address is in a safe System Maintenance area so do not be apprehensive about going there.
You will also note that in this tutorial the IP address of the server we use to create tutorials in learnsdi.com is partially blurred. Your IP address will be fully visible.
