Enter New Menu Item
From time to time the items you sell may change or you may need to add a new menu item. This lesson will show you how to add a new menu item. It will be good practice to print out the listing of menu items (FS > 04 > 14) so that you will have a list of all the existing menu item making it easy to select the next number for the new item. It is very important to remember that Menu Items 1 through 14 are reserved for reimbursable meals. Items 15 and up are for ala carte meal items. Just for example if you assign a fruit roll up to an item 1 through 14 it will be counted as a reimbursable meal. We would want to be careful in assigning numbers. You will notice in the lesson that when an item will be a reimbursable or non reimbursable meal that it is clearly indicated. It should also be noted that just because a menu item is in this file it does not mean that they will appear on the touch screen or be assigned a function key. This is done in a separate program and is covered in another lesson.
