Recording After School Snacks For Multiple Students
This tutorial will show the operator-cashier how to enter after school snacks for multiple students.
Many schools serve after school snacks to students and record those snacks by making one entry of the aggregate quantity and then maintaining a roster of the names and ID numbers of those served. This option is available in your POS program. The program permits the operator to enter one day's snack activity or to enter multiple day's activity on the same screen.
Most schools serve snacks to students on one day and then record the transactions on a subsequent day. This routine is designed to accommodate this sequence of entry. Note that when meal entries and corrections are recorded on a subsequent day from service, then an Accuclaim update must be accomplished for those meals to be accurately recorded. This After School Snack program does the Accuclaim update automatically for you.
Special attention should be afforded the posting operation. Note in the tutorial that when entry for a day or for multiple days is completed that there is an option to place a P in the All Ok prompt. Entering the P actually posts the snacks and is the correct option to select when you are in fact ready to record the snacks served.
Corrections may be made to the snacks recorded if necessary. One may find that the number of snacks recorded is incorrect and must be changed. This can be accomplished by navigating to the desired day and entering the number of snacks that were recorded but this time with a minus sign thus resulting in snacks served for that day as zero. The operator then navigates to that day and enters in the correct number of snacks served. The key here is that we must zero out the number of snacks served and enter the correct amount served.
