Completing A Basic Family Application
This tutorial illustrates how to complete a very basic Free and Reduced Application in the Systems Design Lunch Application System.
This basic application covers the three basic pages that comprise the data entry pages of this program. These three pages consist of the first page which covers the entry of the family data, the second page which provides for the recording of the family income and the last page which accommodates the entry of additional students in the family which attend your schools. It is suggested that you file your paper applications by application number. To do this one should write the application number and the family code on the physical application so that it is visible in you filing system. We will print reports that provide for the cross referencing of students, family codes and application numbers thus making it easy to access your physical applications.
We suggest that you print the benefit letters on a daily basis. The family information on applications, parent names and addresses, may be more current than that of the student data base. Since you will most likely change the information from the student data base to match that on the paper application the benefit letters will be sent to the most current address. Remember that if you have an automatic student demographic update then the information you change will revert to that of the school district data base.
We will cover additional features of the program and show how to complete family applications with multiple incomes, multiple children, categorically eligible students and other instances in subsequent tutorials
