Print Home Room Bar Code Lists
Many schools serve breakfast meals in the classroom. Since the students do not pass by the POS terminal, home room or first period teachers are enlisted to record which students are served and consume the breakfast mea. The Systems Design POS program permits the printing of a listing of students assigned to each home room that includes the student name, student ID number and an associated bar code.
These bar code lists are typically sent to the room each day with the breakfast meal so that the teacher may indicate which students consumed the meal. The bar code list are good for Monday thru Friday so they are generally re-printed each week.
The bar code lists are returned to the Pont of Sale each day so that the cashier may enter the meal data into the system. The data entry may be accomplished by scanning the bar codes of the students who consumed the meal, by entering the ID numbers of each student, or by the home room input feature of the POS system.
It should be noted that the correct home room number should be entered in the appropriate fields in the individual student's masterfile and the correct teacher associated with that home room be maintained in the Teacher Home Room Maintenance routine.
