Report of Actual Categorically Eligible Codes for Pre K Students
In compliance with the TDA and TEA rules, a report has been added to the POS system that will list all the students enrolled as PK with information regarding their eligibility status. The Pre K program requires that all eligible PK students be recorded as Free (with certain exceptions) so the POS system places a P in field 32 of the student masterfile to comply with this rule. PEIMS requires that the true eco code (economically disadvantaged code) be reported. To comply with this rule, the data that Systems Design uploads to PEIMS will not therefore contain eco data. A new report is now available that will contain a listing of PK students that have the status of free or reduced due to a family application and those that may have other categorically statuses such as direct certification, a recipient of SNAP or TANF, identified as a Run Away, Homeless, being enrolled in Head Start, Even Start, a Foster Care child or other categories. PK students enrolled in the district that do not appear on this list should be considered as having a status of paid in PEIMS. The report is required to facilitate manual entry of this data and as previously stated ,all reporting of PK status information and eco data has been excluded from our digital interface with districts PEIMS data bases.
